We host passbolt for you in our 🇪🇺 cloud

At the end of your trial period, you will receive an email informing you that your trial is about to expire. From there, you can choose not to continue and your account will get automatically closed. After a 7 days redemption period your trial data will be automatically deleted. Or you can decide to subscribe to the service and keep using it.

Passbolt Cloud is hosted in Europe on the Google Cloud platform (GCP) in their Belgium and Germany data centers. This choice is motivated by the level of security compliance (ISO27001, SOC2, and more), as well as to reduce environmental impact through low CO2 operations (made possible by GCP's renewable energy purchase matching and >75% carbon-free energy sourcing). If the choice of Google as a data sub-controller does not work for you, you can also opt for the self-hosted version of passbolt.

Passbolt is a european company and therefore we are committed to abide to European laws and regulations especially because they help enforce your right for privacy. As a data controller we can provide you with a signed Data Protection Agreement. You can read more about how we protect your rights in our Privacy Policy.

We can provide you with a backup of your cloud database if you contact us. The process usually takes a few days and for obvious security reasons we will require your identity to be verified.

With this database backup, you will be able to switch to a self hosted version of Passbolt if you so desire. However all your users will need to perform an account recovery since the domain and server key will need to change.

You are allowed to invite as many authorized users as you want. Each user that completes the setup will be added to your user count.

For cloud monthly plans With cloud monthly plans, you can pay as you go. The cost of the newly added users will be reflected on your next invoice. The cost of a user is calculated on a pro-rata basis, for example if you add a user in the middle of the month you will only pay for 50% of this cost for the given month. The same logic will apply if you remove users from your instance, the associated cost will be deducted from your next invoice.

For cloud annual plans Cloud annual plans are provisioned in advance for a predefined user count. For example, if you provision your cloud annual plan for 100 users, you will be billed in advance for 100 users for a year and be free to add users at your own pace until you reach the 100 users limit. If you exceed the provisioned limit of 100 users by adding 1 additional user, resulting in a user count of 101, then you will be invoiced immediately for the next available tiers (in our example, 110 users).

Note that reducing your user count will not automatically scale down your user count provisioning. If at any point you would like to scale down the quantity of users you are paying for, please contact our sales team.
